Funky Town Music & Film Festival will be a defining
music and film festival with cultural amplification that is a reflection of the vibrancy and growth that is happening in Fort Worth, TX. Funky Town will create a destination festival in North Texas with world renowned talent and entertainment industry influencers that is committed to the long-term goal of developing our next generation of filmmakers, musicians, artists and writers. The festival’s mission and vision is to be a platform for music
and film education and preservation, while
highlighting the city’s rich creative history.
About the Festival
Funky Town Music & Film Festival is a conglomerate of the founder of Endeavor Cinema Group, Carlos Aguilar, and Adonis Rose of The Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra, whose combined vision was to bring something impactful to Fort Worth that would increase tourism and contribute to the music, art and film community in North Texas, while contributing to education and scholarships in these categories. Fort Worth is the 5th largest city in Texas, the 16th largest city in the U.S. and is in the top 10 of fastest growing cities in the country. From Downtown, the Cultural District and the Historic Stockyards to Magnolia, West 7th and Panther Island, the city’s cultural assets are world-class and ever growing. Fort Worth is a prime location for a major music and film festival for the following reasons: •The city is culturally rich and notoriously supportive of the arts •Each district possesses its own personality, brings a multitude of options and a strength in numbers of venues to host events, all in close proximity to one another •Panther Island is a versatile property, in the heart of the city and can be center stage to world renowned, major acts •Media – with major outlets in its backyard from the Fort Worth Star Telegram and CBS 11 to the Fort Worth Weekly and Fort Worth, TX Magazine the city has a powerful media voice •The city has never had a major festival of this format, with this type of vision and it needs something to call its own
